As everyone marvels at the US-specific limited-edition, let’s take a look at the car we could be seeing at launch in Australia.
Toyota has taken the covers off its upcoming (and long-anticipated) 2023 Toyota GR Corolla hot hatch.
As the world marvels at a metallic grey, limited-edition and overtly-styled “Circuit Edition” hero car, buried deep in the press pack are images of the regular GR Corolla that’ll kick off the range in the US and internationally.
Australian specification is yet to be revealed – but if history were to repeat itself – the car pictured above and below could be the one we all end up seeing and driving locally, at least at the car’s launch later this year.
For reference, the car is called “GR Corolla Core” in the US-market press pack – denoting an entry-level car and not one equipped with the optional performance package that adds front and rear Torsen limited-slip differentials, a high-rise rear spoiler, and other features.
