The launch of Maserati’s second dedicated SUV, in the form of the Grecale, means 2022 will be an important year for the Italian brand.
The Maserati Grecale medium SUV has been on the cards for some time now, and when it arrives in late 2022, it will join Levante as the brand’s second dedicated SUV. With four-cylinder, V6 and electric options confirmed, there’s going to be plenty to dissect as the brand plans for launch.
It’s been a quiet few years for Maserati in Australia, but Grecale looks set to change that – prestige SUVs from sports car manufacturers are very much the flavour of the moment. Not just in Australia either, but globally.
Drive has already tested a mild-hybrid four-cylinder Grecale prototype overseas, and along with the MC20 supercar (now on sale in Australia), we look forward to driving both in 2022.
Convertible and electric versions of the MC20 are also expected to be revealed next year, though Australian launch details for these models are yet to be confirmed.
