Citroen Ami micro car gets off-road Buggy edition

The tiny front-wheel-drive two-seater has been kitted out with all the off-road gear you could dream of, through this new concept car.

The Citroen Ami micro electric city car has been turned into an off-road buggy – but its limited range and front-wheel drive layout means it’s unlikely to venture far off the beaten track.

Measuring 2410mm from nose to tail – just slightly longer than many motorbikes – the tiny two-seater picks up a nudge bar, LED lights, all-terrain tyres, roof racks, and rock sliders.

Meanwhile, the doors have been swapped out for low storage units within the sills, the body has been lifted, and “aviation-inspired” yellow arrow highlights adorn the nose and wheel arches.

Inside the cabin, thicker foam now trims the hard plastic seats, while more storage is available behind the seats.

One electric motor sends 6kW to the front wheels via a single-speed transmission. This permits a top speed of just 45km/h in standard guise, however the ‘Buggy’ edition’s slightly larger wheels could marginally boost that figure.

Energy is drawn from 5.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack for a maximum range of approximately 70km between charges.

Sadly, this khaki and yellow car is just a concept, and won’t enter production for the time being.
