With plenty of news about production delays and long lead times in securing some models, we wanted to start a series showing which new cars are in stock around the country, that you can get your hands on right away.
First up, the Mazda BT-50 ute.
Updated to an all-new model last year, the 2021 Mazda BT-50 shares its technical underpinnings with the 2021 Drive Car of the Year Best Dual-cab Ute winner, the Isuzu D-Max.
The BT-50 features a 140kW/450Nm 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine and is available in either 4×4 or 4×2 configuration with an option of single, extra-cab and double-cab models.
For the popular four-wheel-drive double-cab ute configuration, pricing starts from $50,760 for a BT-50 XT manual (before options and on-road costs) and climbs to $68,990 for a BT-50 Thunder automatic.
All models are offered with a five-year, unlimited kilometre warranty and a fixed price servicing schedule. Services for the first five years are noted at $421, $393, $679, $500 and $314 for each of the 15,000km or 12-month period intervals.
With four variants in the range (XT, XTR, GT and Thunder), we recommend the GT as the best blend of equipment level and overall value.
