Volkswagen to offer solid state battery technology by 2025

Volkswagen is expected to begin offering a solid state battery solution for its future electric vehicles by 2025, following a joint venture with US-based battery firm QuantumScape. Speaking to media at the unveiling of the Volkswagen ID.3 vehicle at the Frankfurt motor show, Volkswagen board member and chief operating officer, Ralf Brandstatter, said that the brand is working hard on a solid state battery technology to match its Japanese competitors.
