Is the new 2020 Land Rover Defender destined to fail?

I didn’t know what to call this piece for a while. I just called it ‘Land Rover rant’ most of the time, as I wrote a little, forgot about it, revisited, jiggled, hated it, left it alone, and returned once more. It’s a story that comes from a personal place for me, and something I have been grappling with over the past year or so.
