Subaru is set to debut a pair of concepts at the Tokyo motor show next month, one based on its Impreza small hatch and the other on the XV crossover.
In addition to the VIZIV Performance Concept, BRZ STI Sport and WRX STI-based S208, the Impreza Future Sport and XV Fun Adventure concepts give their donor cars a more focused look to go with their respective names.
Kicking off the pair is the Impreza Future Sport Concept (above), which is finished in an eye-catching yellow pearl and features an array of sporty styling enhancements that Subaru says will “encourage the driver to enjoy driving even more freely than before”.
Highlights include unique front and rear bumper treatments, dual-central tailpipes, and circular formations for the front and rear fog-lights.
Next up is the XV Fun Adventure Concept (above) which gets off-road-inspired upgrades to make the Japanese crossover appear more rugged.
Compared to the standard car, the concept gets off-road tyres, extra black plastic cladding and a roof-carrier unit. The bright yellow metallic paint is said to “shine powerfully in the great outdoors”.
In addition to the two concept cars, Subaru will also have the Outback Limited Smart Edition on display at the Tokyo event, which combines the luxurious elements of the Japanese-market’s flagship ‘Limited’ variant with “further functional finishing touches.
Features include a new grille and different alloy wheels, ‘Ultrasuede’ interior trim with dark embossed silver accents, along with an 8.0-inch touchscreen display with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Harman/kardon audio system.
