Local pricing information for the 2018 Range Rover Sport has been revealed this week, ahead of an Australian launch in April 2018.
There will be six different trim levels on offer in the revised Sport lineup, running from entry-level S to range-topping SVR.
The ‘base’ Sport S starts at $95,100 (+$4,200) with the 177kW SD4 turbo-diesel, and jumps to $97,100 for the 221kW Si4 petrol.
Standard equipment includes dual-zone climate control, a multi-function steering wheel, push-button start and rain-sensing wipers. The new Touch Pro Duo infotainment system, which debuted in the Velar, is standard across the range, along with an interactive display in place of traditional analogue dials.
Autonomous-emergency braking (AEB), lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control and parking sensors are standard, too. You’ll pay more for additional safety gear, however, including surround view cameras and rear cross-traffic alerts.
Both S and SE cars get LED headlights from the factory, but HSE and Autobiography cars have been treated to Matrix LED units and range-topping SVR models get brighter Pixel LED units.
Jumping to SE spec boosts the SD4 price to $98,400 and Si4 price to $100,400. It also introduces the 190kW TDV6 six-cylinder diesel to the mix, priced from $105,400 (+$1,500) and adds the 225 kW SDV6 diesel from $114,900 (+$100).
The base four-cylinder SD4 and Si4 aren’t available in HSE trim. Instead, the lineup kicks off with the SDV6, priced from $134,700 (+2,700). Jumping to the Si4 PHEV boosts the price to $146,600. If you prefer petrol to diesel, the 250kW SDV8 HSE is priced from $150,200 (+$2,900).
Moving up to HSE Dynamic spec bumps the SDV6 price to $141,600 (+$3,000) and SDV8 pricing to $157,500 (+$3,900). It also adds the option of a 386kW V8 Supercharged petrol, which kicks off at $173,000 (+4,189).
Sitting atop the ‘regular’ Range Rover Sport lineup is the Autobiography Dynamic, priced from $176,400 in SDV6 trim, and $204,300 (+$7,500) with a V8 Supercharged powertrain.
But the most expensive Sport is the SVR. Available exclusively with the 423kW supercharged V8 shared with the Jaguar F-Type SVR, it kicks off from $238,200 (+$4,989). The refreshed SVR is now available with new exterior options, including an exposed carbon-fibre stripe running down the centre of the bonnet.
There are 21- and 22-inch wheels on offer, and the interior is littered with SVR plates to remind you which car you’re driving.
The revised Range Rover Sport will be in showrooms from April 2018. Further specification details will be available in December, so stay tuned for a full breakdown.
