Lamborghini Urus to be revealed on 4 December: off-road capable and a true Lamborghini, says brand

Lamborghini will reveal details and images of the brand’s upcoming mass production SUV, the Lamborghini Urus, on 4 December.

Speaking exclusively with CarAdvice at the 2017 Frankfurt motor show, Lamborghini director of research and development, Maurizio Reggiani said that everything is going well so far and the brand is on track to reveal the vehicle on time.

“We have so many Lamborghini customers that have an SUV in their garage for their wife or the family as a daily car. These customers would love to have an SUV that’s a Lamborghini,” Reggiani said.

“On top of this, it’s possible that a customer that has never approached the Lamborghini brand because our sports cars are too aggressive, or too much show off, or can’t be daily driven, this customer may have never approached the brand but can now choose a Lamborghini.”

Lamborghini will take the wraps off the Urus at its headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese on 4 December. We know that it will be powered by a twin-turbocharged petrol V8 engine and according to Reggiani, it’ll be a true Lamborghini.

“It will be the best looking SUV, in terms of performance it will be the best on the market. For this reason we are really looking for vast people in terms of customer range and I see big possibilities of getting customers from other brands,” said Reggiani.

“What I can tell is that the car will be the best in terms of driving experience and handling. It will have good off-road abilities, but in terms of dynamics, it will be a true Lamborghini.”
