2022 Range Rover Sport recalled due to tail-light failure

A manufacturing defect could result in the Range Rover Sport’s tail-lights gathering moisture and stopping working.

Jaguar Land Rover Australia has recalled 465 examples of its 2022 Range Rover Sport, due to a manufacturing fault which could cause the luxury SUV’s brake, reverse and rear indicator lights to stop working.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing defect, the right-hand tailgate and body-mounted rear lamps may not be sealed sufficiently allowing moisture to enter the lamps.

“As a result, the reverse, brake/stop and indicator lamps may not illuminate as intended.

“Loss of reverse, brake/stop and indicator lamp system functionality could increase the risk of an accident, causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”
