An adventurous car builder has taken the Lamborghini Urus SUV and turned it into a six-wheeler – but it remains to be seen why this project was started in the first place.
While the advent of Photoshop and other media alteration programs has made it harder to separate fact from fiction online, this six-wheeled Lamborghini Urus serves as a timely reminder that anything can be done with enough time and money.
Posted to social media platform Instagram by ‘CarLifestyle’ – and spotted by CarBuzz – this Lamborghini Urus has been stretched between its rear doors and boot to incorporate another axle.
It’s not clear whether the Urus is now a 6×6 – with all six wheels powered – or if only the front two axles are powered by its 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, but it appears the project is yet to be completed based on the state of the mismatched paint.
A video uploaded to YouTube by ‘Ace1Whips’ earlier this year showed off the six-wheel Urus before its extended panel had glass fitted, and while it was running on a mixed bag of wheels.
There are no details about who owns the Lamborghini or where it is located, though the six-wheel conversion likely wouldn’t be cheap, as the Urus starts from almost $410,000 in Australia.
This Lamborghini Urus is far from the first vehicle to be converted from four to six wheels – classic Holden and Ford utes were sometimes ‘upgraded’ to take a greater load capacity, and even recently a 6×6 Toyota HiLux was built by a private firm for European firefighters.
