The first new Mitsubishi Triton in a decade is about six weeks from its global unveiling, according to a Thai report.
The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton ute is due to be unveiled at the end of next month, according to a new overseas report.
Thai media outlets including Headlight Magazine report Mitsubishi has sent invites to local media for the new Triton’s unveiling in Bangkok on 26 July 2023.
Drive has previously reported on a global unveiling around the middle of this year, ahead of showroom arrivals due late this year or early next year.
The design of the new Triton was previewed by the XRT Concept shown in Thailand earlier this year, with a larger body and tray than today’s model.
According to Headlight Magazine, the Triton will be unveiled in four-door double-cab and ‘club cab’ (extra-cab) body styles, with the single-cab, two-door version to follow at a later date.
The publication claims the new Triton will use an updated version of the familiar 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine in the current model.
It is unclear if there will be any significant mechanical upgrades for the new Triton – such as a tweaked capacity, or a second turbocharger – to boost its performance beyond the 133kW and 430Nm of the current model.
