The SsangYong Musso ute is about to get a bold new look as the company prepares to be renamed KG Group.
The 2024 SsangYong Musso is expected to adopt a fresh look later this year as the company is renamed KG Group after coming back from bankruptcy.
New images show the Musso will adopt a similar look as its SUV counterpart, the Rexton, with a more modern headlight, grille, and front bumper design, as SsangYong embraces a new era as KG Group.
It’s understood the South Korean car-maker is launching new variants of both the Musso – badged as the Khan Sport overseas – as well as the Rexton in some Asian markets, with promotions including free servicing for up to five years and interest-free and low-interest finance. It’s not known whether the incentives will be extended to Australia.
In January 2023, SsangYong’s new boss Kwak Jea-sun announced the South Korean company was rebranding as KG Group – adopting the name of its new parent company and financial backer.
Last month, Drive revealed a trademark application had been applied for KG Group in Australia.
Drive has been told no decision has been made about the naming convention for the Australian market at this stage. A spokesperson for SsangYong’s local division said an announcement was imminent.

Curiously, the facelifted Musso and Rexton have kept SsangYong’s current logo on the grille and steering wheel – despite the company’s ‘twin-ring’ logo of the 1990s having been seen on some other models recently.
A spokesperson for SsangYong Australia told Drive the updated Musso hasn’t been finalised for our market, however it’s expected the updated model will arrive by the end of 2023.
