Police are investigating the theft of four cars from a Toyota dealer in regional Victoria, less than a month after another major burglary at the premises.
Four vehicles have allegedly been stolen from a Toyota dealership in country Victoria.
According to a report from the Sentinel Times, the brazen heist occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning last week, with three alleged offenders seen on security footage breaking into a locked box at Wonthaggi Toyota – and stealing car keys before fleeing across neighbouring paddocks in stolen cars.
Police say only one of the four vehicles has been recovered so far – along with another car recovered that was reportedly stolen in a previous theft from Geelong, thought to have been involved in the burglary.
A grey 2021 Toyota LandCruiser, a sandy taupe 2021 Toyota LandCruiser, and a black 2023 Mitsubishi ASX are still missing.
Wonthaggi Toyota would not confirm to Drive any additional details of the vehicles stolen.
It’s understood to be the second major theft from the dealership in recent weeks.

In late March 2023, thieves stole a car and trailer owned by a Wonthaggi Toyota staff member, with goods stolen from a further 15 cars on the property.
It’s not known at this stage if the two events are linked.
According to the report, $100,000 worth of security fencing and additional surveillance cameras will be installed by the dealership.
