A manufacturing fault can cause the Ford Escape’s panoramic glass roof to detach from the SUV.
Ford Australia has recalled 186 examples of its 2021 Ford Escape due to a manufacturing fault that could cause the panoramic glass roof to become detached.
The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing defect, vehicles fitted with a panoramic roof may have poor adhesion of the fixed glass panel and front roof panel to the roof frame.
“As a result, the panoramic roof panel and or front panel may detach from the vehicle.
“If the fixed glass panel and/or front panel either partially or fully detaches from the vehicle there is an increased risk of injury or death to road users.”
