2021 Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo recalled

The fault could cause the wiring harness to short circuit, according to the recall notice.

Mercedes-Benz Australia has recalled 33 examples of its 2021 Mercedes-Benz Marco Polo campervan, citing manufacturing defect which could lead to a short circuit.

The recall notice, lodged with the Department of Infrastructure, says: “Due to a manufacturing issue, the wiring harness may become damaged and could result in function failures, or a short circuit. This could cause a vehicle fire.

“A vehicle fire could increase the risk of an accident causing serious injury or death to vehicle occupants and/or other road users.”

In 2021, Mercedes-Benz recorded 46 Marco Polo campervans as sold.

Mercedes-Benz advises owners of affected vehicles to contact their nearest authorised Mercedes-Benz dealership to have the work carried out as soon as possible free of charge.
