The Land Rover Defender-inspired Ineos Grenadier four-wheel-drive will initially be available through 28 dealers in Australia from later this year.
Four-wheel-drive start-up Ineos will launch in Australia from later this year with 28 dealerships and service points to cover metropolitan and remote areas.
The company says the outlets are a mix of “established dealer groups, four-wheel-drive specialists, and agricultural equipment dealers.”
The British-based company is due to launch a four-wheel-drive wagon later this year – pending any delays – before adding a ute and other models at a later date.
While the vehicle will need to meet Australian regulations to be approved for sale in Australia, Ineos says it has not targeted a five-star safety rating – even though other heavy-duty or highly-capable four-wheel-drives such as the Toyota LandCruiser and Land Rover Defender can achieve five-star safety without compromising hardcore off-road ability.
The absence of a five-star safety score will likely rule out the Ineos Grenadier for a number of government and business fleets – and certain mining contractors.
Ineos will instead initially target private buyers in Australia, selling vehicles at non-negotiable fixed prices.
Ineos Australia says it will have dealership or service representation in the following areas:
• Sydney NSW
• Newcastle NSW
• Wollongong NSW
• Central Coast NSW
• Port Macquarie NSW
• Orange NSW
• Tamworth NSW
• Dubbo NSW
• Brisbane QLD
• Noosa QLD
• Gold Coast QLD
• Toowoomba QLD
• Rockhampton QLD
• Mackay QLD
• Townsville QLD
• Cairns QLD
• Melbourne VIC
• Geelong VIC
• Mildura VIC
• Shepparton VIC
• Ballarat VIC
• Gippsland VIC
• Perth WA
• Geraldton WA
• Launceston TAS
• Adelaide SA
• Canberra ACT
• Darwin NT
