In 2022 Ferrari will add just one vehicle to its line-up – a plug-in hybrid boasting a new V6 engine.
Ferrari’s sales have declined year-to-date, but only marginally at nine per cent., with the brand selling a total of 172 cars (December data not included). That’s more than its director competitors in Lamborghini (127 vehicles) and McLaren (79 vehicles).
This year the brand launched three new cars down under including the Roma, SF90 Spider and Portofino M.
In 2022 the Ferrari 296 GTB is expected to arrive – the first V6-powered Ferrari since the Dino 246 GT went out of production in 1974, boasting a new 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. It’s paired to a plug-in hybrid system, featuring a 7.45kWh lithium-ion battery and a 123kW electric motor to make a combined 610kW and 740Nm.
Dynamic demonstrations are due at the beginning of 2022 with a starting price of $551,800 plus on road costs.
There’s no word on launch details for the front-engined 812 Competizione.
