Increased
parts and shipping costs forced the price rise, according to the Chinese manufacturer.Chinese marque GWM Haval has increased prices for its Haval Jolion and Haval H6 SUV models by $1000 across the range.
The entry-level ‘Premium’ variant of the small Jolion now starts from $26,490 drive-away, up from $25,490 last month. The range-topping Ultra LE is now priced at $31,990.
For the larger H6, the ‘Premium’ is priced from $31,990 drive-away, up from $30,990 last month. The flagship all-wheel-drive Ultra starts at $39,990.
Full price lists for both models are listed at the bottom of this story.
A spokesperson for GWM Haval in Australia told Drive: “A number of cost increases across the supply chain including areas like parts procurement and shipping were the reason for the recent $1000 price rise on Jolion and H6. Even with a $1000 increase, we remain confident of the excellent value being offered by all our products.”
GWM Haval sales has increased steadily in recent years. Throughout 2019, 1706 vehicles were reported as sold, and, in 2020, that figure increased to 3294.
However, the company no longer reports sales for its ‘Haval’ branded cars independently, instead opting to combine the models with its GWM commercial vehicles. Year to date in 2021, GWM Haval has reported 13,200 vehicles as sold.
