Australian collector snaps up 2022 Lamborghini Countach, retro supercar now sold out

At least one example of the $3.7 million limited-edition Lamborghini is likely to head Down Under when customer deliveries begin next year.

All 112 production-slots for the recently-revealed 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 have already been filled, and Drive understands at least one was sold to an Australian buyer.

A local spokesperson for Lamborghini said: “All units globally have been accounted for … Australia like other countries in Asia-Pacific is an important market for car collectors and we have many close clients that love limited edition cars, especially with the Countach.” It was, however, noted delivery destinations for each vehicle were yet to be officially finalised.

The limited-edition retro supercar – modelled on the classic Countach of the 1970s and 80s – was unveiled to the public just six days ago, however it’s believed the majority of buyers had secured a car prior to launch.

Reportedly priced from $US2.64 million ($3.7 million), the car is underpinned by a rebodied variant of Lamborghini’s flagship Aventador platform, with an electrified 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 petrol engine delivering 599kW to all four wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

This allows the 0-100km/h sprint to be completed in a claimed 2.8 seconds, on the way to a top speed of 355km/h.

The first customer deliveries of the 2022 Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 are expected in 2022.
