Level Three autonomous cars to be legal on UK roads by the end of 2021

Self-driving (autonomous) vehicles are set to be legal on UK roads by the end of the year, the British government has confirmed. The UK’s Department of Transport stated vehicles with automated lane-keeping systems (ALKS) would be the first in the country to be legalised for hands-free driving at speeds up to 60km/h (37mph). The move to allow vehicles with autonomous driving capabilities to drive legally on British roads was confirmed by the UK’s Transport Minister, Rachel Maclean MP.
