Mercedes Benz recalls 3115 cars in Australia due to seatbelt defect

Mercedes Benz Australia has issued a recall on a total of 3115 cars, citing an incorrectly manufactured front seatbelt buckle housing. The affected models are the C-Class, CLS, E-Class, and GLC from 2018 and 2019. The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says “a correctly-fastened seatbelt could be detected as not fastened. If this occurs, a seat belt warning light will remain illuminated and a warning will sound when the vehicle is driven.”
