Takata airbag recall: 200,000 cars remain, 8000 to stop driving immediately
Nearly 200,000 potentially deadly Takata airbags remain on Australian roads unchecked – and 8000 are deemed so risky, owners have been asked to stop driving their cars immediately to have the vehicles bought back by the manufacturer. Road safety authorities in Australia are baffled by thousands of car owners who are ignoring multiple recall notices and face-to-face attempts to contact them about the free repair.
