Photographers have snapped a BMW X7-based prototype believed to be the upcoming Alpina XB7 or XD7, ahead of a potential debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September. It's no secret the tuning firm is working on a new model based on BMW's three-row SUV – Alpina's boss confirmed it last month – and this development vehicle is our clearest look yet.
