Fiat 500 60th Anniversary special-edition arrives from $28,990

The Fiat 500 60th Anniversary special-edition has arrived in Australia, priced from $28,990 before on-road costs.

Following the recently-released 500 Anniversario, the 500 60th Anniversary celebrates the iconic nameplate’s 60th birthday – as the name suggests.

Differing from the Anniversario, however, is the fact that this latest edition is available solely as a cabriolet.

Unique to this new model is special vinyl dashboard trim, vintage logos and chrome bonnet accents. There’s also dual-colour exterior paint – three-layer white for the body and pastel ivory for the bonnet and pillars – complete with burgundy ‘waistrail’ pinstriping and grey roof fabric.

The colour scheme is described as “Dolcevita” – which means ‘sweet life’ in Italian.

Other special exterior finishes include chrome mirror caps, special 16-inch alloy wheels, ‘560’ logos and a numbered limited-edition nameplate.

Inside, there’s ivory leather seats with contrasting burgundy piping, matching the dashboard insert and dual-colour floor mats.

These unique features of the special edition are in addition to a leather multifunction steering wheel, 7.0-inch TFT driver’s display, climate control, fog-lights, rear parking sensors, and a 7.0-inch UConnect touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB and AUX inputs.

It’s the first time the larger touchscreen with smartphone mirroring has been offered in Australia, despite debuting on the Euro-market 500 Mirror edition in April last year – though there’s no factory navigation in our version.

Just 60 units of the 500 60th Anniversary are coming to Australia, priced at $28,990 plus ORCs – $7000 more than the Anniversario hardtop. The special edition is available to order now, with first deliveries of the special edition are due in March.
