2018 Renault Clio RS 18 unveiled

The limited edition Renault Clio RS 18 has been unveiled with styling touches that are said to pay homage to company’s most famous Formula One vehicles.

With black Renault emblems, badges, diffuser, and paint, the RS 18 cuts a mean stance. The monotone look is primarily broken up via yellow highlights around the lower air intake, alloy wheel centre caps, and side sills.

The car also has grey decals, RS 18 badging on the doors, and Renault Sport’s double-diamond logo on the roof.

Named after Renault Sport’s 2018 Formula One contender, the limited edition model is based on the Clio RS 220 EDC Trophy. As such, it has a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, and a 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine cranking out 164kW of power, with 280Nm of torque available on overboost.

The RS 18 also features lowered and stiffened suspension, front dampers with hydraulic compression stops, a sharper steering setup, and an Akrapovic exhaust.

On the inside, the RS 18 has numbered plates, a steering wheel covered in a mixture of faux suede and leather, and fake carbon-fibre trim around the air vents.

Australia

The Clio RS 18 will be launched in Europe during the first half of this year. We’re waiting to hear back from Renault Australia about local availability.

The Trophy model, upon which the RS 18 is based, is currently not available in Australia.
