Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall for seven MY2017 A-Class hatchbacks, over concerns the windscreen could separate from the body.
According to the German marque, the bonder for the lower area of the windscreen may not comply with correct specifications.
If the issue occurs, Mercedes-Benz warns the glass could separate from the body in an accident, which could minimise the protective effect of the front passenger airbag, which wouldn’t be supported by the glass as intended.
The seven affected A-Class vehicles were sold between 1 July 2017 through 31 July 2017.
Owners are advised to contact their local Mercedes-Benz dealer and arrange an inspection of their vehicle, and repair the fault if necessary.
Works will be carried out free of charge.
