The Toyota LandCruiser has been given a plush makeover by aftermarket trim specialists, Vilner.
Based on a V8 turbo-diesel LandCruiser, the black-on-red SUV definitely has an imposing presence, but we’ll let you decide whether it’s a good look or not.
Most of the changes have been made on the inside, including Bordeaux-coloured leather and Alcantara upholstery, front seats from an ‘E60’ BMW 5 Series, and a re-trimmed steering wheel.
The LandCruiser V8 by Vilner also comes with a sports bag to match the interior, featuring red leather and contrasting ‘carbon-fibre’ leather – the latter matching the trim on the seatbelts – along with real carbon-fibre on the buckles. Buyers can also have their initials embroidered into the sides of the bag, as they can on the seat faces.
According to the company, the black exterior/red interior combination is inspired by the Porsche 930 Targa.
“That black exterior/red interior combo is not a Porsche trademark, but they really know how to make it work. But our project is even more striking, because of the pure scale of LCV8’s interior,” said Atanas Vilner, CEO of Art Studio Vilner.
“The red is also a ‘Christmas colour’ so it was very appropriate for our last project for 2017.”
