Lamborghini and MIT to reveal concept car next week

Lamborghini will reportedly unveil a concept car next week, which will preview the look of the vehicle that will replace the Aventador.

Jonny Lieberman, a journalist at Motor Trend, revealed a teaser image and some preliminary details about the concept via a post on Instagram.

Being deliberately vague so as to avoid having his post deleted, Lieberman noted the concept was developed in conjunction with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and would explore the supercar maker’s “pursuit of new materials”.

He went on to hint at a “engine, or lack there of”. In a rhetorical question about batteries, Lieberman replied “not quite”.

The teaser image doesn’t reveal too much about the concept car, although we can see a typically low front fascia and a striking set of LED driving lights.

Earlier this week, Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Lamborghini, revealed the Huracan’s replacement, due in 2022, will feature a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.

It’s understood, the Aventador’s replacement will be offered with a naturally aspirated V12 engine.

The Lamborghini concept will be revealed at MIT on Monday, US time.
