The Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate has been revealed this week, as a farewell for the current-generation GT flagship – and ahead of a new model arriving sometime next year.
Based on the Vanquish S, the Ultimate specification is limited to just 175 units globally, split between the coupe and drop-top Volante body styles.
Three ‘Designer Themes’ are available for the exterior, each bringing a different flavour to the Vanquish S Ultimate.
First is the Ultimate Black (pictured) theme, which gives a nod to the first-generation Vanquish S Ultimate Edition that the colour was created for, with Copper Bronze highlights around the front air intake, side sills and rear diffuser. Other details include black exhaust pipes, brake calipers, window surrounds and inserts on the five-spoke alloy wheels, along with carbon-fibre for the bonnet vents, front grille and side strakes.
Inside, the Ultimate Black theme gets Obsidian Black leather with Chestnut Tan accents, and a carbon-fibre twill fascia trim.
The next Designer Theme combines Xenon Grey paint with Cobalt Blue exterior highlights, which Aston Martin says draws inspiration from the look and materials used in technical sportswear. Yellow brake calipers hide behind gloss black versions of the Vanquish S’s five-spoke alloy wheels, while carbon-fibre trim is again used for the bonnet vents, front grille and side strakes.
Buyers opting for the second theme get Phantom Grey leather upholstery on the inside, including Electron Yellow accents and Spectral Blue stitching.
Finally, the third Designer Theme consists of White Gold exterior paint with Bronze accents, standing out against the carbon-fibre exterior trims. Inside, there’s Chestnut Tan leather upholstery with Obsidian Black accents, along with a carbon-fibre fascia.
“With the Ultimate Edition we have accentuated the Vanquish S’s unique blend of tradition, technology and craftsmanship with a selection of three bold exterior paint schemes and hugely appealing interior packages that make creative use of exciting materials”, said Marek Reichman, chief creative officer for Aston Martin.
“Our design team has created three unique themes which unite an exterior and interior package, but we have been careful to ensure each exterior colour and interior theme work well together to offer our customers maximum choice.”
Meanwhile, Christian Marti, company vice president, said: “As the much-loved and highly-acclaimed Vanquish S nears the end of production, we wanted to celebrate its success with a limited run of very special cars”.
“The Ultimate edition perfectly captures the spirit of Vanquish and is sure to be sought after by collectors around the world,” he added.
Power for the Vanquish S Ultimate comes from the same 444kW/630Nm 5.9-litre V12 as the ‘standard’ Vanquish S.
European deliveries are scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2018, with the Vanquish S Ultimate priced from 211,995 pounds ($367,111) in the UK and 293,995 euros ($446,063) in Germany.
Australia
Aston Martin’s local division has confirmed with CarAdvice that the Vanquish S Ultimate is available now from $519,000 plus on-road costs for the coupe and $556,000 before ORCs for the Volante, with deliveries to commence late in the first quarter of 2018.
