Local details for the revised 2018 Range Rover line-up have been revealed this week, ahead of an Australian launch early next year.
The revised Range Rover lineup will be available in Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography, SVAutobiography and SVAutobiography Dynamic trims with the standard wheelbase, and SVAutobiography trim as a long-wheelbase model.
The ‘entry-level’ Vogue will kick off from $190,000 (+$6,700) in TDV6 form, with 190kW of power from its 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engine. Jumping to the SDV8 boosts power to 250kW, while the price jumps to $211,000 (+$6089). If petrol is your thing, the 280kW V6 Supercharged variant kicks off at $200,200 (+$6989).
Meanwhile, the all-new Si4 PHEV will start at $210,000. All engines are mated an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all barring the plug-in hybrid are equipped with Land Rover all-terrain progress control – essentially off-road cruise control.
Only the SDV8 powertrain is available in Vogue SE trim, with a starting price of $229,600 (+$3389).
Terrain Response, which allows owners to tailor the setup of the car for the off-road conditions, is standard, along with electronic air suspension, for off-roading ability that would make a BMW X5 weep. Vogue and Vogue SE cars are equipped with LED matrix headlights as standard on the outside.
Inside, all RR models come with a heated multi-function steering wheel, push-button start and keyless go, along with the 12-inch driver display in place of traditional instruments. Navigation is standard as part of the Touch Control Duo centre console, which debuted on the smaller Velar and is also coming to the updated Range Rover Sport line-up.
Autonomous-emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control and parking sensors are fitted as standard across the range.
Moving up to Autobiography trim bumps SDV8 pricing to $256,000 (+$11,889) and, if a more powerful petrol is what you’re after, offers the 386kW V8 Supercharged from $268,900 (+$11,889) in regular wheelbase spec. Long-wheelbase models will start at $266,000 (+$10,189) and $279,100 (+$10,189) respectively.
Along with the gear from Vogue models, the Autobiography gets Pixel LED headlights capable of projecting light more than 500 metres ahead of the car, thanks to 144 individual LED units.
Moving up to the SV Autobiography Dynamic (below), with its 416kW supercharged V8 engine and more ‘dynamic’ chassis, bumps the price to $341,000 (+$25,289).
For that extra money, you get unique exterior touches in Graphite Atlas grey, bigger Brembo brakes with red calipers (naturally, on your two-tonne SUV) and unique wheels. Inside, there are perforated, quilted leather seats.
The range is topped by the SV Autobiography SDV8 ($372,400) and V8 Supercharged ($398,900).
The new Range Rover will be in Australia from March 2018. More detail about each model’s specification will be revealed in December, so stay tuned for a full breakdown.
