2018 LDV D90 pricing and specs

Local details for the 2018 LDV D90 have been revealed this week, with the Chinese SUV to kick off from $36,990 drive-away.

Serving as the brand’s flagship, the D90 is a full-size seven seater that is set to challenge the likes of the Mazda CX-9, Toyota Kluger and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.

Three trim levels will be offered locally; Mode (pictured in white), Deluxe and Luxe (pictured in blue), along with front- and all-wheel drivetrains. Power across the range comes from a 2.0-litre turbo petrol with 165kW of power and 350Nm of torque, mated as standard to a six-speed automatic transmission.

Fuel consumption is rated at 10.2L/100km in two-wheel drive models and 10.9L/100km for four-wheel drive variants, helped by the standard fitment of an idle stop/start system.

Four-wheel drive versions also get high- and low-range gearing, a terrain selection system and an electronic rear differential lock.

Opting for the Mode ($36,990 drive-away) means two-wheel drive only, with standard equipment including automatic LED headlights with LED daytime-running lights, rain-sensing wipers, artificial leather trim for the front row and fabric trim for the second and third rows, a 12-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, an 8.0-inch driver’s information display, tyre-pressure monitoring, along with front and rear parking sensors.

The base variant also comes fitted with a full suite of active safety systems like autonomous emergency braking (AEB) with forward collision warning, hill-descent control, hill-start assist, blind-spot monitoring, traffic sign recognition, lane-departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.

Stepping up to the Deluxe ($39,990 drive-away) adds a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting, a leather steering wheel, powered tailgate, leather trim for the first two rows (artificial leather in the third row), and an eight-speaker audio system.

The Deluxe also gets the option of four-wheel drive, which bumps pricing up to $42,990 drive-away.

Finally, the Luxe flagship kicks off at $46,990 drive-away, and is offered in four-wheel drive only.

Extra kit includes a 360-degree camera system, a larger panoramic sunroof, an auto-dimming rear-view mirror, eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat with four-way lumbar support, ventilation and massage function, four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat with four-way lumbar support and heating, heated second row seats with electronic adjustment, and a 12-speaker audio system.

There’s also puddle lights, exterior ambient lighting, a gesture-operated tailgate, and a 220V power socket.

Dimensionally, the D90 is 5005mm long, 1932mm wide (with mirrors) and 1875mm tall (with rails). There’s a 2950mm wheelbase, 210mm of ground clearance.

Inside, the D90 features 412L of luggage capacity with the third row in place, 1350L with the third row folded, and 2382L with both rear seating rows folded.

Meanwhile, the D90 weighs in at 2130 kilograms, and has a braked towing capacity of 2000kg.

The LDV D90 is on sale from 30 November.
