The 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo (deep breath) has joined the line-up this week, on sale in Australia from $466,400 plus on-road costs.
Joining its sedan twin, the Sport Turismo version of the hot hybrid Panamera gets a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 teamed with an electric motor. System outputs are rated at 500kW and 850Nm, with 0-100km/h taking a claimed 3.4 seconds. Grunt is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed PDK transmission.
Despite its performance potential, which also includes a top speed of 310km/h, the Panamera S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo can run up to 49 kilometres on pure-electric power thanks to its 14.1kWh battery pack, and uses fuel at a claimed rate of 3.0L/100km combined.
Standard equipment on the electrified flagship includes Porsche’s Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC Sport) roll stabilisation system, the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) rear differential lock, high-performance ceramic composite brakes, 21-inch alloy wheels, Sport Chrono package and auxiliary air-conditioning.
Other highlights include three-chamber air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), offering a range of different modes so drivers can opt for a “high level of driving dynamics” or comfort.
Also standard are three rear seats, though the outboard pews are considered individual units, hence the Sport Turismo S E-Hybrid being labelled a 4+1 car.
Behind the tailgate is a 425-litre boot, which expands to 1295 litres with the second row folded – the latter featuring a 40:20:40 split.
The 2018 Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo is available “by special order” now in Australia, priced from $466,400 before on-road costs – $6300 more than the sedan.
