New images of a camouflaged 2018 Aston Martin Vantage have surfaced online this week, giving us the best look yet of what to expect from the British sports car when it makes its debut later this year.
Despite the heavy black and yellow disguise, the next-generation Vantage prototype appears to be wearing its production body in these latest images, as opposed to borrowing a modified version of the larger DB11’s sheetmetal.

Going by what’s visible through the camouflage, the new Vantage will definitely draw inspiration from James Bond’s DB10, which was essentially a rebodied version of the current-generation V8 Vantage – as previewed by the leaked patent images that surfaced last month.
Up front are slim headlights and a smaller, lower version of the company’s signature front grille, though the Vantage has a more prominent front lip and splitter. Meanwhile at the back, the slim tail-lights, ducktail-like spoiler and rear diffuser look almost identical to the DB10.
While further details of the next-gen Vantage are yet to be revealed, it’s likely that it will be powered by the DB11’s new 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 sourced from Mercedes-AMG – which develops 375kW of power and 675Nm of torque.
Should Aston Martin choose to offer its smaller model in a two-tier V8 and V12 family like the current version, the DB11’s 447kW/700Nm 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 is also a probable second powertrain.
Company boss, Andy Palmer, has already confirmed the Vantage will be revealed before year’s end, so stay tuned to CarAdvice for our coverage.
