2018 Jaguar F-Pace, XE, XF get new 221kW Ingenium petrol engine

The 2018 model-year Jaguar F-Pace, XE and XF ranges have become the latest recipients for Jaguar Land Rover’s new high-output ‘Ingenium’ 2.0-litre petrol engine.

Developing a healthy 221kW of power and 400Nm of torque, the turbocharged four pot will arrive later this year across the F-Pace SUV, XE medium sedan and XF large sedan model lines, claiming impressive performance and efficiency.

In the smaller XE (below), the high-output 2.0-litre unit sends the rear-wheel drive sedan from 0-100km/h in just 5.7 seconds, while returning a claimed fuel consumption rating of 6.7L/100km on the combined cycle.

The larger XF manages the benchmark sprint in 5.9 seconds, while using 6.8L/100km claimed on the combined fuel consumption cycle.

Finally, the F-Pace SUV (top) with the 221kW Ingenium motor goes from 0-100km/h in a still-impressive 6.0 seconds, with fuel use rated at 7.7L/100km.

The new Ingenium petrol engine is paired exclusively with a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic transmission.

We’re waiting to hear back from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Australia regarding local pricing and specifications for the updated ranges, so stay tuned to CarAdvice for an update in the coming months.
