Leaked photos of the next-generation Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon have surfaced on the internet.
As expected these grainy black and images show that the new Wrangler Unlimited doesn’t differ too much stylistically from today’s car.
These pictures were posted by a reader on JL Wrangler Forums. Later the administrators of the site claimed that they had confirmed the authenticity of these photos from sources within Fiat Chrysler.
According to those sources and these images, the new Wrangler Unlimited will feature fully removable roof and doors, a solid frame with a fixed roll cage, more boot space, full length rain gutters, and a tall seven-slat grille.
In mid-2015, Sergio Marchionne, Fiat Chrysler’s boss, confirmed that to lower costs, the new Wrangler wouldn’t feature the much-rumoured all-aluminium body. Instead key components, including the doors, bonnet and tailgate, would be fashioned out of the lightweight material.
Marchionne has also said the next-generation vehicle will be available with smaller turbocharged engines for improved fuel economy.

The new Wrangler is expected to debut this year, with the current vehicle likely to continue in production as a value-oriented entry-level model.
In addition to the two-door Wrangler and four-door Wrangler Unlimited, a ute variant is also anticipated.
