Jeep hints at V8 for Wrangler or Gladiator

Jeep could be about to launch a V8 Wrangler or Gladiator. Only a few days before Ford reveals its new line of Bronco models – a sub-brand launched by Ford to compete directly with Jeep – a shadowy, stylised picture has been posted on Jeep's Instagram account with the number '392' on the bonnet. In cubic inches, 392 refers to the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 engine found in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.

Ford Bronco breaks cover one more time before this week’s unveiling

If you weren’t exactly sure if the Ford Bronco had the Jeep Wrangler in its sights, then this photo ought to do it. This image of a Ford Bronco with its doors off and roof panels removed – while kicking up some sand – has appeared on US fan forum Bronco6G.com. We’re guessing this is the last leaked image we will see before the new Ford Bronco line-up is revealed in all its glory on 8pm Monday Detroit time (Tuesday 10am in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania).

Video: Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series teased

Mercedes-AMG has teased the upcoming GT R Black Series with a video released on YouTube. Featuring a cameo from YouTuber Shmee150, the short video gives us a glimpse of the limited edition flagship model from the German performance car brand. The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series is expected to be a step-up from the GT R Pro, which itself uses a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 putting out 430kW/700Nm via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Ford Mustang Mach-E: discarded design sketches revealed

The evolution of the upcoming Ford Mustang Mach-E has been revealed during an exclusive live-stream event. Ford executives shared images showing early sketches and design concepts of the fully-electric Mustang SUV with members of the Mach-E Club. The Mustang Mach-E is Ford's performance plug-in electric SUV, with five variants available to buyers overseas: standard and extended range models, offered in either rear- or all-wheel-drive, and a range-topping GT model.

Nissan R34 Skyline GTR V-Spec sets price record

A new record has been set for the price paid for a Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec at auction. Despite having 65,000km on the odometer and being 20 years old – built between 1999 and 2000 – the hammer fell last month at 15,105,000 Japanese Yen ($AUD206,000). That's half the price of the most expensive Nissan GT-R of all time, however it is believed to be the most paid for this particular model. One of the main reasons for the record price was its paint colour – Midnight Purple III.
